The DC Go-Go Trails Collective: East of the River

The DC Go-Go Trails Collective: East of the River collaborates with agencies, non-profits, local businesses, and coalitions to create a safe, interconnected network of land and water trails that promotes healthier living and fosters community pride in Washington, D.C.'s Wards 7 and 8.

We focus on serving the area's high percentage of children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities get onto trails, into parks, and connected to the Anacostia River. Through community walks, bike rides, cleanups, and educational events, we create opportunities for residents to experience nature, build relationships, and strengthen community ties.

Our vision is a thriving, cleaner, and greener community in Washington, D.C.'s Wards 7 and 8, where vibrant land and water trails connect residents, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities, to parks, nature, and each other. This fosters joy, social connection, and community pride while mitigating environmental impacts, enhancing neighborhood resilience, and supporting family success through local initiatives.

Very nice and well maintained trail lined parallel by a creek for most of the ride that hugs multiple DC neighborhoods. Plenty of access points to the trails so you don't feel boxed in. Last night a pretty strong storm came through DC so there was some debris and one downed tree that made the ride a little tricky, but I don't blame the trail or mother nature ha. Short 4-miles, so super family friendly. Enjoy!

This trail is really nice to run, walk, and bike. It has wide asphalt paths with a few quick hills.

ayeshadeanna Oxon Run Trail

Found this trail geocaching. It’s paved and beautiful view of a part of the city I had not seen.

A great trail and a best kept secret (well, not anymore)! This trail also gets 5 stars because it’s minutes from me and the scenery is great. The inclines definitely make for good exercise! South PG gets a bad rap but they’re so many great scenic walks here!

Nice trail with a variety of parks and rivers and bridges and lakes. Visiting the Aquatic Park and Gardens was a real treat. It's right off the trail. Weekends can be a bit crowded and the trail is narrow but it a must do. Markers guide you along the way, there's lots of separate intersecting trails.

My aunt and I took a quick walk on this path. It’s a peaceful walk on a paved path with a burbling creek nearby. A lovely step into nature in the Cleveland Park area.
